Testing Results

Product Performance

Fyrex CI our diesel product, was comprehensively tested on more than one occasion and approved by the NSW Department of Primary Industries.  This process involved numerous levels of evaluation providing formal Government correspondence.

On-Road Testing

There have been several tests carried out on commercial fleets, including over 1650 buses and 400 trucks. This commenced in 2008 and the data collection for this is ongoing.

The tables below represent emission and consumption data for all test participant vehicles.  Individual data sets are not only too large to post on this website, but in most cases remain commercially sensitive to our test partners.

Off Road Testing

Off road testing of our product commenced in 2006 on small capacity engines such as Perkins 1004 and the Isuzu D-MAX.

Test participants include Isuzu Motor Sports, large quarrying companies, mining companies, and NSW Government Agricultural Research & Development Stations.

The tables below represent emission and consumption data for all test participant vehicles.  Individual data sets are not only too large to post on this website, but in most cases remain commercially sensitive to our test partners.

Mining Regulation Testing & Gazettal

The Perkins 1004 test results are shown below. NSW Department of Industry and Investment required 3 separate and independent tests of fuel containing Fyrex CI. All testing was undertaken by the Mines Safety Technology Centre (withing NSW Department of Primary Industries) and was conducted in accordance with testing procedure 03/0255 within their National Australian Testing Authority (NATA) accredited laboratory.

The Mine Safety Technology Centre produced test reports 06/0212, 07/0066 and 09/1254 of which the results are commercial in confidence to the Department.

As a result of these tests, Fyrex CI was gazetted by the Department as suitable for underground mining, currently the only fuel additive technology to be approved for this purpose.

Dynamometer Testing

Specialised Dynamometer bench testing has been carried out by the off road mining industries of Australia. Large engines were tested by independent parties such as NSW Government Department of Industry and Investment, Mining Companies, Engine Manufacturers and Fuel & Infrastructure Management Australia (FIMA)

Caterpillar Engines 3516

Engine Dynamometer testing of the Caterpillar off road mining machinery engine 3516 was undertaken as a joint project in 2008 with a leading mining company, NSW Australia Government Department Industry and Investment and FIMA.  This testing was conducted within a Caterpillar engine test facility in full compliance with Caterpillar engine testing standards and procedures for engine return to service fitness. This was a static bench test. Fuel efficiency was improved, emissions were reduced and horsepower was enhanced.  See below for Data.  The full data set of this research is too large to include here for the purposes of this document and remains the intellectual property of our test partner.

Detroit Engines 4400

Engine load box testing of the MTU off road mining machinery engine, 4400 was undertaken as a joint project with a leading mining company, Queensland Mineral Resources emission testing and FIMA.   This testing was conducted within a mine as an integral component of their Energy Efficiency project.  Fuel efficiency was improved, emissions were reduced and horsepower was enhanced.  Specific results remain commercial in confidence as the intellectual property of the mine.

Cummins Engines QSK60

Engine Dynamometer testing of the Cummins off road mining machinery engine, QSK60 was undertaken as a
joint project in 2010 with a leading mining company, NSW Government Department Industry and Investment and
FIMA.  This testing was conducted within a Cummins engine test facility in full compliance with Cummins engine
testing standards and procedures for engine return to service fitness.  This was a static bench test.  Fuel efficiency
was improved, emissions were reduced and horsepower was enhanced.  See below for data. The full data set of
this research is too large to include here for the purposes of this document and remains the intellectual property

Perkins 1004

Dynamometer testing of the Perkins 1004 underground mining engine was undertaken as a project between
FIMA, the NSW Government Department of Industry and Investment Mines Safety Technology Centre and P.J. Berimans (the original equipment manufacturer) of underground mining personnel transport machinery. The full data set of this research is too large to include here for the purposes of this document and remains the intellectual property of our test partner.
